Simba Portfolio is the vision of a third-generation Tanzanian Sikh family from Moshi. Though our family’s roots began in timber, furniture making, and transport, it was our deep love for the national parks—its raw wilderness and breathtaking landscapes that inspired us to create these lodges and camps.
Today, under the leadership of five brothers of the Mudher-Bhamra family, we welcome guests from around the world with the same warmth and hospitality we would offer in our own home. Our aim is to provide exceptional experiences at a fair price, so every visitor can discover the beauty and wonder of these gem-like destinations in Tanzania.
From our family to yours, welcome to the heart of Tanzania.
Our success is built on the dedication of our remarkable team. From the skilled professionals managing marketing and operations to the warm, welcoming staff at our lodges, every member plays a vital role in creating unforgettable experiences for our guests.

In line with our commitment to eco- and responsible tourism, most of our lodge staff come from nearby communities. As defined by The International Ecotourism Society, eco-tourism is “responsible travel to natural areas that conserves the environment and improves the well-being of local people.” By recruiting, training, and hiring locally, we’ve built strong relationships with the villages and rural areas around our lodges.
At Karatu and Tarangire, our team delivers exceptional performances on and off the field—literally. We’re glad to have our own staff football team, regularly competing (and often winning!) against local teams. So when you stay with us, you’re welcomed not only by friendly faces but by energetic individuals who know how to slide tackle past problems both in the lodge and on the pitch.

Our connection to the community shapes everything we do. We strive to support local projects and address community needs, such as schools and clinics whenever possible. In turn, our employees keep us informed about situations and conditions in the community that may impact our business. This partnership with our staff and local government reflects our role as active citizens and reinforces the true spirit of responsible tourism.
In the Serengeti, we actively support local schools, including Robanda Secondary and Primary School, by providing essential resources and financial assistance. We also support Robanda Dispensary, helping to ensure the community has access to quality healthcare.
In Tarangire, where water scarcity is a pressing issue, we have installed a borehole to provide free, clean water to local villagers. This initiative reflects our commitment to improving local livelihoods and addressing critical needs beyond our lodge’s boundaries. By ensuring access to safe drinking water, we aim to make a lasting, positive impact on the well-being of Tarangire’s residents.
